History

Past, Present, Duesmann & Hensel Recycling
Lots of things happen in our company history: the number of employees grows, technology advances and the turnover rises continuously.

Below you will find a brief overview of the events since 1998.

2012:
The second year in row we receive the Credit Reform Creditworthiness Certificate officially proving our strong financial structure. And beginning of the year we establish our new subsidiary Duesmann & Hensel Recycling (UK) Ltd. in Slinfold, United Kingdom.

2011:
We receive the Credit Reform Creditworthiness Certificate, as an official recognition of the solid financial structure of our company. A new version of our website is created, offering optimised functions and a modern design.

2010:
The number of employees at our head office increases to 85. Our new office building is completed and we move into it.

2009:
We get the award "Bavarians Best 50" from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs as a tribute to our growth and the great activity of our employees. Worldwide we are looking for new regions to expand into. We found Duesmann & Hensel North America Inc. and Duesmann & Hensel Recycling Australia Pty. Ltd.

2008:
Our 10th birthday. Our new website goes online and our customer and staff newsletter DUEMAG is published for the first time.

2007:
The large expanded Federal Emission Control Act application, which now relates to the entire factory premises, is granted. The establishment of our business in China starts in the same month with the founding of "Duesmann & Hensel Ceramic (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.".

2006:
A new subsidiary joins us: Duesmann & Hensel Austria in Hallein/Austria. The number of employees rises to 35.

2005:
We have a new name: "Duesmann & Hensel Recycling GmbH" and our business relations no longer extend only to the USA, but now also to South Africa, Malaysia and Jordan.

2004:
The economic revival revives us as well! The commissioning of our second processing line - the metal catalytic converter recycling plant - expands our business range all the way to the USA. In addition, we rented new premises in the neighbourhood, concluded initial permanent agreements with motor vehicle manufacturers and received official certificates.

2003:
The market recovers - and our company as well! Additional equipment is purchased and more personnel hired. In addition, we started developing a processing line for ceramic catalytic converters. Ralf Duesmann, previously one of our managing partners, now becomes CEO as well. Clemens Hensel also becomes managing partner and CEO.

2001:
After three years of continuous growth, a drop in the precious metal prices results in a decline of turnovers and personnel. So far, this was the only incidence of this type.

2000:
A lot already happened in the first two years: Our team of meanwhile 18 employees coordinates the sale and purchase of a large quantity of old catalytic converters at the new company premises, which also includes an external storage building. The company now operates officially by the name of "Duesmann Recycling GmbH".

1998:
Alexandra Duesmann starts purchasing catalytic converter stocks as franchise partner of Demet Deutsche Edelmetall Recycling AG. Still the same year, the number of employees increases to seven people, which results in our first relocation.
